AFRED: The Atlantic Facilities and Research Equipment Database, which is an online, open access, searchable database of User recorded information on research facilities and equipment intended to facilitate the exchange, sharing or use of these resources amongst interested parties and to facilitate connections between interested parties.
Non-identifiable Information: information that we gather from you that is not personally identifiable to you, such as your IP address or browser software.
Science Atlantic (variously, “we” or “our”): a federally incorporated not-for-profit charitable corporation.
Site: means this website, https://www.afred.ca, and all pages using this domain name.

User (variously, “you” or “your”): an individual who accesses and uses the Site.
This Site is intended only for individuals over the age of majority in the jurisdiction in which they reside.

AFRED is an open access database. All information that you submit to the Site, including, but not limited to, Personal Information and contact information, will be added to AFRED and may be displayed publicly on the Site. Your submission of information to the Site is considered your consent that this information will be displayed on our Site. DO NOT SUBMIT ANY INFORMATION THAT YOU DO NOT WANT PUBLICLY DISPLAYED.
Use of your Information
- In connection with AFRED in order to facilitate the exchange, sharing or use of certain valuable equipment, resources and information, and to facilitate connections between interested parties.
- To provide you with information relating to our services.
- To follow up on User comments and suggestions.
- To manage and develop our business systems and operations.
- To monitor and conduct an analysis of our website traffic and usage patterns.
- For certain commercial purposes, including but not limited to, charging subscriptions fees, fees for services, and sale of non-identifiable information.
Science Atlantic reserves the right to share, sell and commercially distribute any information, personal or non-identifiable, collected from you through the Site with third parties or to transfer such information to a successor entity or to an entity which purchases substantially all of the assets of Science Atlantic.
Science Atlantic sometimes contracts with outside organizations to perform specialized services such as hosting the Site.
