  • Cetac auto ASX-520 sampler
  • WinLab 32 for ICP v.4.0.0.0305
  • Multi-elemental analysis with Yttrium internal std
  • Dual view instrument (Axial and Radial views)
  • Dual detector (165 to 405 nm and 404 to 782 nm)
  • Single slot Quartz torch
  • Various spray chambers and nebulizers available (such as cyclonic spray chamber and concentric glass nebulizer)

Research Facility

Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy Facility - Micro Analysis Facility
Memorial University
St. John's
Newfoundland and Labrador (NL)

The ICP-OES facility houses a Perkin-Elmer 5300 DV inductively coupled plasma – optical emission spectrometer which can be used for rapid, simultaneous determination of metals and most other elements. With a Cetac ASX-520autosampler, the instrument can analyze 250 in sequence.

The facility is equipped to perform digestions of solid samples at no addition charge, if neccesary. Solution samples submitted should ideally be in 2% nitric or hydrochloric acid at a volume of 5 mL. Contact Adam Beaton for pricing.
