Horizontal MRI Scanner

Horizontal MRI Scanner

Used for MRI studies of transport phenomena in fast flows, fluids in porous media, including oil and gas in rocks, water transport in wood, and various routine  NMR/MRI relaxation, diffusion measurements

2.4 T magnet

Several 3D gradient sets, with the maximum magnetic gradient strength of 30 G/cm, and 1D gradient sets (up to 270 G/cm)

A set of homemade RF probes for various nuclei (1H, 19F, 31P, Li, Na, Cl, etc) with 3.8 cm inside diameter

Proton RF probes with 10 cm inside diameter

Research Facility

Magnetic Resonance Imaging Center
University of New Brunswick, Fredericton
New Brunswick (NB)

Our lab applies Magnetic Resonance methods to studies of materials and processes with short signal lifetimes. We do work in two areas of NMR and MRI applied to materials science: two-phase media and portable NMR instrumentation/applications.
