Pilot aquaculture farm

Equipment

Pilot aquaculture farm

Farm consists of five cascaded layers of production tanks. Water flows by gravity through each layer so that the effluent from one layer becomes the feed stock for the next. The farm is designed to study trophic interactions between the layers and the use of marketable organisms as a bio-filter in land based aquaculture. Ocean water is pumped and filtered to 200 µm before making a single pass through the farm. Total water volume of the farm is 65 m3 . Tank Oxygen levels can be monitored and controlled, and flow rates and temperatures are continuously monitored.

Total Volume 66 m3

Sea water flow rate: 14m hr-1
