Equipment
HPLC system equipped with vacuum degasser, binary pump, thermostatted column compartment, auto sampler and UV-Vis diode array detector (DAD).
The ion trap mass spectrometer is suited for acquisition of MSn spectra and it can be acquired in full scan or single-ion monitoring modes, 50-2200 m/z range, positive and negative polarity.
Available two sources: electrospray ionization (ESI) and atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI). Sample introduction by LC or syringe pump.
Research Facility
The Centre for Environmental Analysis and Remediation (CEAR) is an analytical instrument facility that provides teaching and research support to undergraduate and graduate students, university researchers, and faculty at Saint Mary’s University. Located in the Science building, CEAR offers services that include hands-on training, analysis of samples, and method development in the areas of chromatography, mass spectrometry and elemental analyses.
