Analyze mercury concentrations in diverse range of environmental samples. Examples of sample matrices which have been analyzed in our laboratory: feathers, hair, teeth, fish muscle, fish scales, blubber, soil, sediment, water, plants, invertebrates, and wood dendrochronology sections.
Equipment must remain in the DEEHR clean room laboratory facility at Saint Mary's University.
The Dynamic Environment & Ecosystem Health Research group carries out research and assessment of both aquatic and contaminated ecosystems across Canada and world-wide. We study the biogeochemistry of contaminants, such as mercury and arsenic, how those move through air, water and food webs, and the potential impacts of those contaminants on human and ecosystem health.
