The ICP-OES facility houses a Perkin-Elmer 5300 DV inductively coupled plasma – optical emission spectrometer which can be used for rapid, simultaneous determination of metals and most other elements. With a Cetac ASX-520autosampler, the instrument can analyze 250 in sequence.

The facility is equipped to perform digestions of solid samples at no addition charge, if neccesary. Solution samples submitted should ideally be in 2% nitric or hydrochloric acid at a volume of 5 mL. Contact Adam Beaton for pricing.

Used for rapid, simultaneous determination of most elements. This instrumentation is most commonly used for the analysis of water and dissolved inorganic materials such as minerals, metals, and waste.
